2011 MLB predictions (And One!)

Attached is a new Spreadsheet including the picks of Bill C., our newest Society member. Although Bill has spent most of his professional life in Boston, he is a lifelong Yankees fan. Therefore, you won’t be surprised to see that he has joined Steve J. and voted with his heart – picking NYY to win World Series #28 (ugh!)

At least Bill and Steve stand by their convictions (unlike other Yankee lovers I shouldn’t name, but will – Tom, Tony, Pete….) Unfortunately for me, it appears another Yankee championship is a real possibility. Of course, I don’t expect Boston to lose all 162 games. BAL probably won’t win all 162, but that 4-0 start makes Robert C. look pretty smart. The season is still young, but the AL East looks really interesting.

For our new players, here is the scoring system we will use come October and November:

3 points for correct selections of division winners and wild cards (possible 24 points)

1 point for picking a division winner that takes the wild card and vice versa

6 points each for correct selection of NL and Al pennant winners (possible 12 points)

12 points for correct selection of World Series champ
10 points each for correct selection of individual awards (possible 60 points)
A perfect score is 108.

2010 winner Tom M. totalled 28 points followed closely by Tony L. with 27.

2009 winner Tony L. totalled 49 points followed closely by Marc W. with 48.
