“Expert” – one who has a special skill or knowledge in some particular field

B.A.B.E.S. was founded in 2008 by three lifelong baseball fans who believed that a lifetime of following Major League Baseball as a fan qualifies one as an “expert” as much as if reporting on the game is your profession.   We strive to prove this each year by matching our predictions for the season’s outcome with those of the sport’s media professionals. (See the Competing for the Rocky page for details.)  The beauty of this competition is that all of our work is done by Opening Day.  Thereafter, we sit back and enjoy the season as baseball – our National Pastime – marks the Nation’s time as it has for nearly 150 years.
